Samah is a Partner and Head of the Firm’s Employment and Labour Practice. Samah is also a Risk and Compliance Partner within the DLA Africa Group and is a Partner in charge of the firm’s Zanzibar Branch.

Samah has over a decade of experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution generally. She has advised various national and International Organisations on on a range of Employment and Labour relation matters including retrenchment, CBA negotiations, relations with Trade Unions, strikes and termination.

Samah has successfully represented top tier Commercial Banks, Mining Companies, Oil and Gas Companies, Non-Governmental Organisations on Litigation and Arbitration.

She was admitted to the bar of Tanzania Mainland in 2007 and Zanzibar in 2011.

She has attended various trainings on alternative dispute resolution, arbitration and Advocacy skills.

Notable Professional Experience
  • Successfully negotiated and settled a royalty claim against an international Mining Company involving approximating 27 million.
  • Successfully negotiated and settled a claim by a Chinese construction company against a Libyan company involving USD 7 Million.
  • Currently representing subsidiaries of an international Mining company in royalty claims of approximate 7 million.
  • Successfully represented a local Hunting company in an Arbitration where the company was awarded USD 1.3 Million in damages.
  • Currently representing various international and local Companies/Organisations at the CMA and the High Court Labour division in various labour claims.
  • Currently representing a local NGO in a labour dispute involving 140 employees.
  • Currently representing a local bank in a claim of over USD 490 Million.
  • Successfully represented and advised various local and international Companies in Arbitration and Enforcement proceedings both in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.
  • Advised various national and International organisations on various matter relating to employment and labour relations including but not limited to retrenchment, CBA negotiations, strikes and termination.
  • Successfully represented an oil marketing Company at the CMA. High Court Labour and the Court of Appeal in a class action by 145 employees in relation to a retrenchment exercise.
