A Quick Snapshot of the public service social security fund act, (No.2) 2018

The Public Service Social Security Fund Act, (No. 2), 2018 (PSSSF, “the Act”) is now operational. This law was assented by the President of Tanzania on 8th February 2018 and gazetted on 9th February 2018, vide GN No. 6, Vol. 99 of 2018.

Alert: Finance Bill 2018

On the 12th June 2018, the Finance Bill, 2018 which aims at imposing and altering certain taxes, duties, levies, fees and to amend certain written laws relating to the collection and management of public revenues was published to the special Gazette of the United Republic of Tanzania No. 4 (the Bill).

Net Metering

In February 2018, DLA Piper published the 30th issue of their Real Estate Gazette. The issue was entirely devoted to energy effciency where observations were done on different countries’ approaches to improving the energy effciency of buildings, renewable energy projects and sustainability in commercial real estate.

In Tanzania, our Associate Mr Pascal Mwanyika, covered this study and wrote an article that was featured in the DLA Piper Real Estate Gazette.

Acting under the powers conferred to her under section 112 of the Mining Act, 2010 as amended by the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act, (Act No.7 of 2017), the Minister responsible of mining inTanzania Mainland made regulations which were published on the Government Gazette on January 10, 2018.
